Qigong (Chi kung) translates as energy cultivation. In these classes you are taught a variety of deep breathing and meditation techniques. These are performed while sitting, standing as well as moving. We will be practicing the 8 Pieces of Brocade and 5 Animal Form to name a few. Qigong is a fundamental practice in Tai Chi and is an excellent introduction to the concepts of internal energy.
Right after our Qigong practice, we will continue our class with an introduction to Tai Chi Yang Style geared specifically for beginners. Students will follow an easy step by step Tai Chi movements with the emphasis on learning the Training Forms created by Master Guang.
To make your practice enjoyable, please wear comfortable clothing, indoor shoes or socks. Also, please bring water to drink.
